Aomori International Airport

Aomori Regional Airport - a small airport catering the basic needs for passengers for International flights and Domestic flights. You will see that they have arranged the domestic flights on the left and international flights on the right. A handful of international flights like Korean Air, OK Air and Eva Air.

At 2nd level, there are a few souvenir shops where we can buy goodies home tax free. This is good because we need not lug all the goodies from hotel to airport. We just need to come to airport earlier, get to 2nd floor, buy the gifts, pack our bags before we check in.

We paid 1200yen per pax for the Limousine bus ride from Aomori International Airport to Hirosaki Station. It takes about 55 mins to travel between Aomori Airport to Hirosaki.
The thing I like about travelling in small town in Japan is that you will not find the buses overly crowded.

The airport in nearer to Aomori Town. Only 35mins bus journey. This is my other consideration why I end my journey in Aomori. This give me lesser time to travel to airport.
You will be surprised to see that the crews at Korean Air counter speaks in Korean upon check in though we are still in Japan. This shows that 90% of its passengers are from Korea. They even have a Korean Manager who specifically over sees the team. The same team will be at the gate before we board the plane.
As this is a regional airport, you can see that everyone are not that stressful including the immigration officers. I have a wonderful immigration experience when the immigration officer shared with me the difference in weather between Singapore and Aomori and we exchanges some jokes about apple picking which is my dream.

However, at the information counter, perhaps due to its regional feel, the staff were not that "on the ball". So they will not help based on their best. Still, I like this place cause though basic, it caters to our basic needs. Plus, if we fly via Korean Air, the service is wonderful here.
